FRESH - Energy from CO2

The Consortium of the FRESH project (EU H2020) met online for the 6M general assembly the last January 18^th.

CNR and Coval Energy showed the latest advance in developing and testing the CO₂ electrolyzer and Direct Formate Fuel Cell (DFFC) during the meeting. HYSYTECH has actively participated in the integration and optimization activities between the CO₂ electrolyzer and the DFFC carried out by CNR and Coval Energy during the first 6 months.

In the next period, HYSYTECH will start with the basic engineering of the prototype design and manufacturing.

The FRESH project aims at the production of potassium formate from CO₂ by exploiting a technology developed by one of the partners, COVAL, and its subsequent use in the Direct Formate Fuel Cell (DFFC) to produce energy.

HYSYTECH will work with COVAL in the scale-up of the technology and will develop and build-up the entire final system for energy production.
