LESGO, innovation in energy research
HYSYTECH closes the year with the start of a new R&D project: our R&D team participated in the online KoM of LESGO, on December 16th. LESGO is the acronym for "Light to Store chemical Energy in reduced Graphene
Oxide for electricity generation".
The project will run for three years and it proposes to store energy in the C-H bond of reduced
graphene oxide (rGO-H). Then, LESGO will demonstrate that rGO-H can become an ideal energy stock at an affordable cost and used to suplly electrical power on demand.
HYSYTECH, as part of the project, is responsible for the design,
scale-up and manufacturing of the TRL5 LESGO prototype to store H in GO flakes. The company is also involved in the testing and validation of the prototype and it is responsible for the techno-economic analysis.
The partners of the project are: Graphenea SA (Spain); Universitaet Duisburg-Essen (Germany); Aalto Korkeakoulusaatio SR (Finalnd); Fundacio Institut de Recerca de l'Energia de Catalunya (Spain); HYSYTECH srl (Italy); Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche (Italy); Gencell LTD (Israel); Centro Ricerche FIAT (Italy); Fonden Teknologiradet (Denmark).
