HYSYTECH will supply EDISON group with two plants of Bio-LNG from Biogas

Milan-Turin, June 7^th, 2022 - An important agreement has been signed between two leading companies in the field of renewable energy: EDISON Spa has awarded HYSYTECH Srl with the construction of two integrated biogas upgrading and biomethane liquefaction plants for the production of bio-LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas): each plant will produce up to 6 tpd (tons per day) of bio-LNG starting from the organic fraction of urban waste.

HYSYTECH has been awarded with two orders from EDISON group for the entire plant construction: biogas pre-treatment, upgrading, polishing, liquefaction, storage of bio-LNG, transfer system and road tanker loading, including the entire metering system for the measuring of the energy produced and the relevant incentives pursuant to Italian procedures.

Within the project, EDISON will integrate industrial services and civil works, while HYSYTECH -with the support of Stirling Cryogenics, Dutch company from the same group, world specialist in cryogenic technologies- will take care of all the process equipment, automation and control system, including installation, commissioning and start-up.

The use and demand for biomethane, a natural and renewable fuel derived from the biogas purification process (upgrading), and for LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas), are growing strongly and represent a concrete future of sustainable energy.

The biomethane of the two plants born from the EDISON-HYSYTECH agreement will be fed from the biogas produced by the anaerobic digestion of organic urban waste and, once liquefied and conveyed as liquid gas (LNG), it will be used as a biofuel in the transport market, especially heavy transportation.
