Green hydrogen: HYSYTECH is ready for the new European scenario
After the 9-billion plan recently launched by Germany, the challenge of green hydrogen has also been embraced by France, Holland, Austria, Belgium and Luxembourg (in addition to Switzerland as a non-EU country). The goal is to increase the European Commission's investments in the delevopment of this source, capable of responding to the EU's sustainability objectives.
Bio-hydrogen can in fact be a valid contribution to sustainable mobility, capable of decreasing environmental, social and economic impacts, air pollution intended primarly as an improvement in the quality of air in cities, greenhouse gas emissions.
Those just mentioned are also the objectives of H2GENIO, the technology of HYSYTECH in this scope. This is a technological development already consolidated in the industrial sector, based on low pressure "Steam Reforming" and on which HYSYTECH has 3 international patents. This system is used for the production of high purity hydrogen (use of natural gas, very low electrical requirements, minimum installation and operating costs).
HYSYTECH has developed an application of H2GENIO technology which involves the use of biogas as a source for the production of bio-hydrogen. The company is completing the construction of a plant capable of supplying Nm3\h of renewable green hydrogen (H2) from biogas, which will be put into operation by the end of 2020 (landfill gas, anaerobic digestion from organic waste, anaerobic digestion of sewage treatment sludge).
"The first plant for the production of bio-hydrogen from biogas produced by the anaerobic digestion of the organic fraction of municipal solid waste (OFMSW) will be put into service by HYSYTECH this year -specifies Andres Saldivia, business developer of HYSYTECH srl- thus going to further enrich our experience in the field of biofuels. We are ready for new EU challenges that see green hydrogen at the forefront as a source of sustainable energy."
