Inauguration of the new biomethane plant

New, important goals for the partnership between HYSYTECH and Acea Pinerolese Industriale.

Today, 28 September 2020, the inauguration of the new biomethane plant, which treats up to 1,500 Standard cubic meters per hour of biogas, was held.

the following took part in the cutting of ribbon: the Managing Director of HYSYTECH Massimiliano Antonini; the President of Acea Pinerolese Industriale Andrea Chiabrando; the CEO of Acea Pinerolese Industriale Francesco Carcioffo; the Major of Pinerolo Luca Salvai; for the "Politecnico di Torino" Prof. Gianmario Pellegrino; for Legambiente the national President Stefano Ciafani and the regional President Giorgio Prino.

The plant is installed at the Polo Ecologico of Acea Pinerolese Industriale, in Pinerolo, Italy, as part of the continuous collaboration between the companies since 2014, when the first plant in Italy producing pipeline biomethane from municipal organic waste entered into service at the Polo Ecologico.

Biomethane is produced with a biogas valorisation process obtained from the anaerobic treatment of organic waste and is injected into the natural gas distribution network, the network who serves the houses of the Pinerolo area, the shops, the small industries of the territory and, above all, the fuel stations selling CNG (Compressed Natural Gas - methane for cars).

Biomethane is indeed a value alternative to fossils fuels, as it is totally derived from renewable sources and does not involve the withdrawal of natural resources.
